The mission of the St. Francis de Sales Guidance Department is to encourage students to explore academic, personal, and interpersonal strengths and weaknesses, interests and dreams, by supporting them academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically during their high school years.

The objectives of the Guidance Department are to:

  • prepare students for post secondary planning

  • assist students in making healthy decisions

  • teach students how to problem solve and enhance their coping skills

  • develop positive values and work habits

  • increase social skills; and

  • learn to make adjustments to the demands and responsibilities associated with adolescence.

The responsibilities of the Guidance Department include:

  • holding individual sessions

  • grade level meetings & parent programs

  • classroom visits,

  • mediation and, if needed,

  • referrals to outside agencies
