The Campus Ministry Program at St. Francis de Sales is rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and follows the model of St. Francis de Sales. Each student will attend a yearly retreat, attend mass as a community each month, and have the opportunity to participate in the liturgical ministries of lector, altar server, greeter, and Eucharistic Minister.

St. Francis de Sales students participate in Kairos.
Kairos is a greek word that means a propitious moment for decision or action. A Kairos retreat is a multi-day spiritual awakening activity sponsored by the Catholic Church for high school and college-age youth. The purpose of the retreat is to help the participants contemplate their relationship with God, discover their own identity and build stronger bonds with their peers.
This year, our seniors were transformed by their experience.
“Kairos is a retreat of several days' length, The schedule alternates between prayer, community building, reflection and rest. Its main purpose is to grow in self knowledge and to build community around the weaknesses we have in common. Since failure to do that is what keeps us from seeing God in the world, succeeding in it re-establishes our connection to God as well.” said Josh Warner, our Campus Ministry Director.
Our students have many positive comments about their experience:
“For me as a teenager, Kairos was an opening: it helped me to be real with people." - Curtis
"Kairos gave us the opportunity to get to know each other on a deeper level. It made us family." - Natalia
"It was good to have people understand what I'm going through. I say hi to people in the halls more these days. Also, the food was good." - Lisa
We are thankful for this experience and next year’s seniors are already looking forward to their Kairos Retreat.
